Providing opportunities for our younger actors and theatre enthusiasts, YAC is a great program for that first time theatre experience.

If you missed it, shame on you. It was three hours of non-stop fun starting with the Fair an hour
before the Show and then two hours of laughter. The audience, both old and young, played games,
won prizes and then entered the magical world of Aladdin and jeered, cheered and booed. Aladdin
got lots of help from the audience on spell hints, how to use the magic lamp or finding the skeletons.
The Daytona Playhouse Young Actors Company (YAC) were dressed to the nines and sang many
wonderful tunes. The bad guy, Abanaza, and no that isn't a banana, was played by Vince Mirabile.
Our zany Widow Twanky, Aladdin's mother was our scholarship winner, Alyssa Gibbs who starts at
Flagler College in August. Aladdin, our hero was Gabriel Savage who fell in love with the beautiful
Princess Jazzy-mein, Summer Foley. In all, 32 YAC members contributed their talent to make Aladdin
a rousing success. The fair and show would never have been such a success without all the
wonderful support of our volunteers and so many of the YAC parents. Plans are already under way to
pick next summer's YAC production. So make us a permanent part of your summer fun!
