Kathy Thompson

An audition notice in Sept of 2007 caught Kathy's eye in her search for a community theatre to support. She was cast in Dark Rituals and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife that season and has been busy creating all sorts of havoc since.

She loved being on stage performing in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; The Savannah Sipping Society; The Actress; Bell, Book and Candle; Tomb With A View; and Bedroom Farce. She also directed mainstage shows beginning with Girls of the Garden Club in 2010 and others such as 9 to 5 and Spamalot.

Her proudest achievement was the creation of the Young Actors Company in 2009 for which she has directed 17 shows including several she has authored. Kathy also founded the Christmas Radio Shows, Readers Travel Troupe and Readers Socials. She joined the Executive Board in 2009 as VP of Publicity and became President in July of 2018. Her goal remains to do whatever she needs to and ensure the Playhouse remains a vital part of our Arts community, providing all our local talent a place to perform, especially our youth.
